Beaufort County maintains a group hospitalization/medical insurance program through BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. Full-time employees become eligible for this coverage on the first day of the month following date of hire, provided all proper applications are made.

Beaufort County offers two (2) health insurance plans through BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. You may choose coverage levels that include spouse, child(ren) or family, as well as, between a Basic and Premium plan. Either plan includes in-network and out-of-network services, nationwide network access, in-network discounts, no claims to file when using in-network services, and co-payments for office services, outpatient care, and prescription medications. Coverage is offered at a low cost to employees.
